In 2009, with two new 911 GT3 RSR Porsches on their way from Germany (and the 2008 GT2 drivers and team championship under their belts) the team needed to clear some space in their Sonoma, California-based shop. The 2007 RSR, which had raced a complete season in the American Le mans Series and the 2007 24 Heures du Mans, was being readied for sale. The team decided to restore the beautiful Troy Lee-designed livery one more time in preparation for auction over the Summer during the Monterey Historic events in Monterey California.
For the restoration of the livery, the team hired Jerry Woods Enterprises, in Campbell, California. Their goal was to work to restore the exact livery on the actual Porsche, just as it had raced at Le Mans, using the original files and materials.
