Flying Lizard on the Pole for St. Pete; No. 46 Fifth and No. 44 Sixth

April 4, 2008 -- St. Petersburg, Florida -- Wolf Henzler put the Flying Lizard No. 45 Porsche on the GT2 pole in today's qualifying session for the Acura Sports Car Challenge of St. Petersburg. Henzler had the fastest lap time of the 14-car GT2 field: 1:11.745, a new GT2 qualifying record for this circuit. In the Flying Lizard No. 46 Porsche, Johannes van Overbeek qualified fifth and in the Lizard No. 44 Porsche, Darren Law was sixth.

This is the first pole of Henzler's ALMS GT2 career. He and teammate Joerg Bergmeister had a strong start to the season with a GT2 victory at the Sebring 12-hour race, which also saw a second-place finish for sister Lizard Porsche No. 44. Henzler commented, "I'm really happy with the result today. I enjoy street courses and the team gave me a great car for qualifying. It's not only the driver who gets the car on the pole, but the entire team behind him -- thanks to the crew who did a great job in getting to a solid setup in just 2 hours of track time. I was able to get out early in the qualifying session, and get in some strong laps and then the fastest lap. Porsche has made a lot of improvements in the cars this year, and I think we are starting to see the results of that work."

The Acura Sports Car Challenge of St. Petersburg begins at 1:25 pm ET, Saturday April 5, 2008. It will be televised live on ABC, and tape-delayed on Motors TV (Sunday April 6, 8-10 pm CET). The race will be broadcast on Radio Le Mans www.radiolemans.com, and Flying Lizard will broadcast the team radio live on raceday. For more info, see www.lizardms.com.
