Flying Lizard Mosport Qualifying Results
August 23, 2008 -- Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada -- The Flying Lizard No. 45, No. 46 and No. 44 Porsches qualified fourth, fifth and tenth in GT2 for tomorrow's Grand Prix of Mosport. Wolf Henzler qualified in the No.45, Patrick Pilet in the No. 46 and Seth Neiman in the No.44.
No. 45 engineer Stefan Pfeiffer commented, "Mosport is a track which is very challenging for setup: we have to get to the right compromise for both very fast turns and very slow turns. We are still working on getting the right mix; we aren't there yet but expect to be by race start tomorrow."
Henzler added, "I had the same car during qualifying that I did in the last practice session, but suddenly I no longer had the same grip - it was very frustrating and a disappointing result." In the No. 46, Pilet had a similar experience, "This was a difficult qualifying session for me. The first time I put on new tires at the start of qualifying, it was very tough to find a good balance with the car. But I'm confident we'll get to where we need to be by the race."
The No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari is on the pole, with Jaime Melo setting a new GT2 qualifying track record of 1:16.863.
