Flying Lizard Launches Porsche Motorsports-Branded Apparel Program
May 13, 2009 -- Sonoma, Calif. -- Flying Lizard Motorsports launched today a program with Porsche Motorsports which authorizes the team to create and market team apparel bearing the official Porsche 911 GT3 RSR logo in combination with the Flying Lizard team logo. The sports car racing team--which is defending GT2 champion in the 2009 American Le Mans Series and recently announced their fifth consecutive 24 Heures du Mans entry in France--is partnering with Porsche to offer the silver, red and black Porsche 911 GT3 RSR logo on select Flying Lizard team merchandise."Our fans think of us as a Porsche team; they love Porsches and love the team and want to proudly display that," said Paul Pillitteri, Flying Lizard merchandise director. "We've had an overwhelming number of requests to put the Flying Lizard and Porsche Motorsports brands together on our gear. After working closely with Porsche on a co-branding program we are now launching the first products. Our men's full-button camp shirt is a fan favorite for casual evenings out, and now looks even classier with the addition of the Porsche logo. Our brand new charcoal-grey racing tee-shirt features a popular 'all-over' printing technique on the front with the No. 45 Porsche and both logos."
President of Porsche Motorsports North America Paul Ritchie commented, "Our long-standing relationship with Flying Lizard was a key part of our decision to license the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR logo. The team operates at the highest level of professionalism in one of the toughest forms of racing out there today. We support Flying Lizard's goal to offer high-quality merchandise that both celebrates their fan's favorite racing team and their favorite marque - Porsche."
The first jointly branded apparel items are available today at the Flying Lizard online store and will be available at the Flying Lizard booth at most ALMS racing events.
