Bergmeister Qualifies No. 45 5th and No. 44 13th for Road America

August 21, 2010 – Elkhart Lake, Wisc. – Joerg Bergmeister qualified the No. 45 Flying Lizard Porsche fifth and Seth Neiman qualified the No. 44 thirteenth in GT today for Road America. The No. 45 had grappled with setup issues through both practice sessions earlier in the day, but had things mostly sorted out by the start of the qualifying session, which was shortened by more than five minutes due to a red flag. Bergmeister commented, "We kept improving the car over the day, and just before qualifying we made another change. I'm really happy with the car right now. I think we qualified better than we had expected; we will start ahead of two of our biggest competitors and that will set us up for a very interesting race." The No. 4 Corvette is on the GT pole.

In the No. 45 Flying Lizard Porsche, Bergmeister and Patrick Long hold a narrow lead in the GT championship: eight points ahead of Jaime Melo and Gianmaria Bruni of the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari and 11 points ahead of Bill Auberlen and Tommy Milner of the No. 92 Rahal Letterman Racing BMW. In the No. 44 Flying Lizard Porsche, Darren Law rejoins Seth Neiman (currently in ninth in the drivers' championship) for the 2 hour and 45 minute race on Sunday.

In the remaining three races, there are 70 points maximum remaining in the championship: 20 points for first place at Road America and Mosport (August 29) and 30 points possible at Petit Le Mans in October.
