Bergmeister Qualifies the No. 45 2nd at Mosport, Will Start at Head of GT Grid; Neiman 12th in the No. 44

August 28, 2010 – Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada – In the No. 45 Flying Lizard Porsche, Joerg Bergmeister clocked the second fastest time in GT qualifying at Mosport of 1:17.461 on the 2.459-mile circuit; in the No. 44, teammate Seth Neiman was twelfth. The No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari is on the GT pole, however they will start from the back (due to a driver change), moving the No. 45 of Bergmeister and Patrick Long to the head of the GT grid. In the No. 44, Neiman will be joined for tomorrow's race by co-driver Darren Law. Law is racing today at the Grand-Am event in Montreal and will arrive at Mosport in time for raceday morning warmup.

Bergmeister commented on qualifying, "I had a good session today: I was happy with the racecar and was able to get a very good lap. We had some handling issues earlier in the week, but we made some changes over the last two days and I think we made a huge step forward in our long-run performance. Hopefully that will translate into a solid racecar tomorrow. Starting up front will be an advantage: it's very tough to pass at Mosport and it's very easy to ruin your tires in the dirty air of the guy in front of you."

Bergmeister and Long are leading the GT drivers' championship, 18 points ahead of Jaime Melo and Gianmaria Bruni (No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari) and Dirk Mueller and Joey Hand (No. 90 Rahal Letterman Racing BMW), who are tied for second. The team is second in the team championship points. There are two races left in the season and 50 total possible points remain: 20 points for first place at Mosport and 30 points for first at Petit Le Mans in October.
