About Us

2008 will be Flying Lizard Motorsports' fifth consecutive season in the American Le Mans Series, competing in the GT2 class in Porsche GT3 RSRs. Since its first year of competition in 2004, the team has finished in the top three in the ALMS GT2 team and drivers' championships, but has not yet won the title in GT2. In 2007, in the Flying Lizard No. 45, the duo of Johannes van Overbeek and Joerg Bergmeister challenged the No. 62 Risi Ferrari to a memorable, season-long contest in GT2. Three race wins, including the flagship 1000-mile Petit Le Mans, were not enough to clinch the title, and the No. 45 and the team were second in the championships in 2007.

Flying Lizard is back in force in 2008 for the full ALMS season and is competing with three cars in GT2: the No. 44, No. 45 and No. 46 Flying Lizard Porsches. The team also expects to compete in the 2008 24 Heures du Mans, its fourth consecutive entry at the renowned event.

The 2008 ALMS season spans 12 races throughout North America. The season kicks off in March with the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and concludes with the season finale at Laguna Seca on October. Races are broadcast on SpeedTV, CBS, and ABC.

Flying Lizard Motorsports was founded in 2003 by team principal (and driver of the No. 44 Porsche) Seth Neiman. The team is based in Sonoma, California at Infineon Raceway.
