WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (June 18, 2024) – Rounds five and six of the 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series happen this weekend at Watkins Glen International, and the group at Flying Lizard Motorsports is ready to get back to racing. With four entries in the single-make series, the Lizards lead both the team championship point standings, as well as the driver championship Pro-Am standings.

“It is still early in the season, but up to this point we had had a lot of success and are firmly in the fight for the Championship with several of our cars,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “Everyone loves racing at Watkins Glen, it is a fast technical track that takes serious commitment. We had a great two-day test a couple of weeks ago and are confident with our setup and look forward to this race weekend.

Between the team’s several racing programs, they had almost four weeks without a race event, using the precious time to settle into their new Phoenix, Arizona race shop and prepare the cars for another weekend defending the championship points lead. With three podiums and one win in 4 races, Jeroen Bleekemolen and Tim Pappas lead the Pro-Am driver standings with the No. 54 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo2. Teammates Slade Stewart and Andy Lee are hot on their heels just one mere point behind, themselves with one win and three podiums this year. Paul Nemschoff and Marc Miller joined the season in the second weekend, jumping headfirst into what ended up being a chaotic pair of races. Sam Shi has shown strong speeds this season as a rookie in the Am class earning his first pole at Sebring, and he continues to build on the progress he’s made throughout the season on strong, podium-worthy runs.

This weekend, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series will once again run in support of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, giving event attendees a variety of races to watch throughout the course of the event. The single-make Lamborghini series will host a pair of 50-minute races with 39 entrants at the Glen, where last year, Nemschoff and Miller led the charge for the Lizards with a second-place finish.
