ALTON, Va. (July 16, 2025) – Flying Lizard Motorsports returns to action this weekend in the McLaren Trophy America championship as the series heads to VIRginia International Raceway for Rounds Five and Six of the 2025 season. Coming off a strong double-podium showing at Circuit of the Americas, the team looks to keep the momentum rolling with its two McLaren Artura Trophy entries.

The No. 18 McLaren of Brandon Kreutz and Canaan O’Connell currently sits second in the Pro/Am championship standings, while the No. 3 of George Lawrence and Spencer Bucknum holds fourth. With the season approaching its halfway point, every position on track will be critical in the fight for the title.

The forecast calls for rain throughout the event weekend, with Saturday likely offering the driest conditions for Race One. The team has already proven capable in tricky weather, including a wet Sonoma makeup race that saw both entries climb the order to earn top finishes. The technical, high-speed layout of VIR will add another layer of complexity, but also opportunity for the team. The race weekend will have two 50-minute races in which each pro-rated and each am-rated driver in the car must complete their allotted drive time.

Race one will stream live on the GT World YouTube channel on Saturday, July 19 at 12:05 PM, followed by Race Two on Sunday, July 20 at 10:15 AM ET.

With unpredictable conditions and close championship battles, the stage is set for another exciting chapter in Flying Lizard’s debut McLaren Trophy America campaign.
