SEBRING, Fla., (March 12, 2024) – Flying Lizard Motorsports is poised to kick off the 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season this Thursday and Friday at the illustrious Sebring International Raceway, running in support of the iconic Twelve Hours of Sebring. Flying Lizard will proudly field three of the 37 cars entered in the two-round season opener on the renowned Sebring, Florida road course.

Returning to the fray are Slade Stewart and Andy Lee, piloting the beloved No. 14 pink unicorn Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo 2 as they embark on their sophomore campaign in the Pro-Am class. Joining them in the competitive class are the formidable duo of Tim Pappas and Jeroen Bleekemolen in the No. 54 Lamborghini, marking Pappas’s eagerly awaited return to the Flying Lizard Motorsports fold. Completing the team’s lineup is the promising newcomer, Sam Shi, steering the No. 98 entry as he embarks on his inaugural season in the LB Cup class.

Notably absent from the opening rounds are Paul Nemschoff and Marc Miller, the drivers of the No. 41 Super Trofeo entry, who will make their eagerly anticipated return at Rounds Three and Four at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, scheduled for May 10-12.

“Since the latest EVO version of the car has never officially raced at Sebring,” said Program Manager Darren Law. “It was important for us to get time there for the drivers, the engineering staff and the crew. We gathered a lot of information last week in testing and with the addition of new drivers and staff, it was a good chance for everyone to spend some time working together. We are looking forward to getting the season started.”

The team’s meticulous preparation for the season opener was finished with their recent completion of the final pre-season test at Sebring International Raceway. This will be the first time the team’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo effort has competed at Sebring, though the 24-time sports car racing champions have a long and successful history at the circuit.

Each race weekend will consist of a pair of 50-minute races, with a 10-minute window in which every entry must complete a pit stop. The two-driver entries will change drivers, while the one-driver entries wait a minimum required time before rejoining.
