Maricopa, Ariz., (July 15, 2025) – Flying Lizard Motorsports will make a one-off return to the Pirelli GT4 America series this weekend with a special family pairing: Craig and Zach Lumsden. The father-son duo will compete in the Am class, piloting the No. 413 BMW M4 GT4 EVO in the upcoming doubleheader weekend. This event marks a new chapter for both the Lumsdens and the Flying Lizard organization, as the team sets the foundation for the pair to explore GT4 competition.

“We’re excited to welcome Craig and Zach to the team,” said Team Principal Darren Law. “This collaboration has been in discussion for some time, and while GT4 racing will be a new discipline for both drivers, they bring a wealth of experience from various areas within the motorsport industry. We’re confident that their skill sets will translate well to GT4 competition, and this opportunity serves as an excellent introduction to the category.”

“I am honored to be a part of the Flying Lizard Motorsports team for our inaugural race,” said Craig Lumsden. “I am just as excited to put our new BMW M4 GT4 EVO to the test and begin a new journey for both myself and my son Zach Lumsden and Colorado Motorsport.”

Craig Lumsden’s motorsport resume includes nearly a decade of racing across multiple disciplines. He began in 2015 alongside Zach in local SCCA RallyCross events, then advanced into professional rally competitions with NASA Rally Sport, Rally America, and the American Rally Association. He has since competed in some of the most demanding off-road and rally events in the world, including the SCORE International Baja 1000, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and the FIA World Rally Raid Championship (W2RC), racing internationally in Sonora, Morocco, and Dakar.

Zach Lumsden also brings a diverse racing background. He began his motorsport journey at the age of nine in motocross, later transitioning into rally and circuit racing alongside his father. By age 27, Zach had already competed in world-renowned events such as Dakar and Pikes Peak, building a reputation for grit and growth at every level.

“I’m thrilled to embark on this new journey in a different discipline with Flying Lizard Motorsports and, more importantly, alongside my father,” said Zach. “I look forward to what we can achieve on this new path of racing.”

The Lizard duo will make their debut in the Pirelli GT4 America championship, a series known for its large grids and racing action, featuring GT4-homologated machinery from top manufacturers like Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Porsche, and more. The championship’s unique format includes two-driver pairings contesting 60-minute sprint races in double-header weekends at iconic circuits across North America. This weekend’s event will take them to VIRginia International Raceway, near Danville, Virginia. 

“Last week, we had the chance to conduct a shakedown session at our home facility, Apex Motor Club, where both Craig and Zach were able to get some valuable seat time,” concluded Law. “This initial run provided them with a solid foundation and familiarity with the car ahead of our first official outing on track.”

The weekend’s races will be livestreamed on the GT World YouTube channel on Saturday, July 19 at 5:00 PM ET, and Sunday, July 20 at 11:25 AM ET.
