August 10, 2007 — Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin — Joerg Bergmeister qualified the Flying Lizard No. 45 Porsche fourth in GT2 today, the fastest of the six Porsches in the GT2 field. Joerg and teammate Johannes van Overbeek head into tomorrow’s four-hour Generac 500 at Road America race with the goal to hold their lead in the ALMS GT2 drivers’ championship. van Overbeek commented, “Although we don’t have the outright speed of the Ferraris, we’ve proven that can we execute well and with a bit of luck we can finish on the podium on Saturday.”

The No. 44 Lizard Porsche of Seth Neiman and Darren Law will start from the rear of the grid. Darren, who is competing today at Watkins Glen, was unable to get to the track in time for the practice sessions. IMSA regulations require that drivers set one lap time during one of the official test or practice sessions. Cars with drivers who cannot meet this requirement are allowed to compete but must start from the back of the grid. Eric Ingraham, team manager and strategist for the No. 44 Porsche, added “Regardless of our qualifying result, we would have to start from the back. We decided that there wasn’t much more we could achieve from running the qualifying session, so we elected to sit out.”
