LEXINGTON, OH — June 26, 2004 — Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche cars #45 and #44 qualified fourth and seventh, respectively, today in the GT class for the American Le Mans at Mid-Ohio race. Driver Darren Law, of Phoenix, AZ, qualified the team’s #45 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR fourth in the 13-turn, 2.258-mile road course. He will race Sunday with co-driver Johannes van Overbeek of San Francisco. The race will be televised live on Sunday, June 27 on CBS, starting at 2 p.m. EST.

Law commented on today’s qualifying session, “We are coming into the race off of three months of car and team preparation. With two red flags, the qualifying session was shortened, but the car is running well. I’m really looking forward to the race tomorrow.”

Lonnie Pechnik of Pacific Grove, Calif., overcame significant hurdles to qualify seventh in class. An accident on Friday destroyed the team’s primary #44 GT3 RSR and the team replaced the car on Saturday with a 2003 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Pechnik qualified seventh, and will drive on Sunday with co-driver Seth Neiman of Burlingame, Calif.

Pechnik offered his perspective on the replacement RS: “Considering that just 24 hours ago our primary car was put out of competition, it’s a testament to the capability of our mechanics and crew that we were able to get back into the field so quickly at this level of performance.”

Paul Truess, team car chief for #44, added, “It was a challenge to prepare the GT3 RS in such a short time. Just 12 hours after the accident we had essentially constructed a new car, including new chassis and drive train. Our mechanics and team worked extremely hard to make this happen.”
