April 17, 2005–Braselton, GA — The Flying Lizard Motorsports No. 45 and No. 44 Porsches finished fourth and eighth in GT2, respectively, at today’s Sportsbook.com Grand Prix at Road Atlanta, the second contest of the ALMS season.

After a strong start from third on the GT2 grid, the No. 45, with Jon Fogarty at the wheel, settled into fourth position following a series of yellows and driver change to Johannes van Overbeek. At about the 2-hour mark, van Overbeek successfully navigated an impact from another car and a subsequent spin into the gravel. “The GT2 field was incredibly strong in this race. The Panoz really deserved its win and Alex Job Racing and Petersen/White Lightning both ran very hard. We had hoped to be on the podium, but we still have a long season ahead of us,” said van Overbeek.

The No. 44 started from the rear of the grid because it had not been able to qualify after sustaining major damage in an incident during morning practice on Saturday. “Seth and I ran a solid, incident-free race,” said driver Lonnie Pechnik. “Just the fact that we raced today was a testament to our crew, who once again worked all night to rebuild the car and get us back on track.”
