April 16, 2005–Braselton, GA — Flying Lizard Motorsports driver Jon Fogarty qualified the team’s No. 45 Porsche 3rd in GT2 at the Grand Prix of Road Atlanta today with a time of 1:22.446, only 4/100th of a second behind the #2 qualifier. He and teammate Johannes van Overbeek will share driving duties at the 2 hour 45 minute race tomorrow, which starts at 12 pm Eastern Time.

“Racing conditions are near ideal today–warm, sunny and clear–and the track is great. The No. 45 is running very well; we were the fastest today that we’ve been all week. With such strong competition in GT2, Johannes and I will definitely have our work cut out for us tomorrow,” said Fogarty.

Sister Lizard Porsche No. 44 (Lonnie Pechnik/Seth Neiman) did not run qualifying because of damage sustained during an incident in morning practice. The team is working to repair the car in time to race on Sunday.
