September 3, 2005 — Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada — The Flying Lizard Motorsports No. 45 and No. 44 Porsche 911 GT3 RSRs qualified fifth and ninth today for this weekend’s Labour Day Weekend Grand Prix of Mosport. This will be the eighth race of the 10-race American Le Mans season for the California-based GT2 team.

Jon Fogarty commented on his qualifying stint in the No. 45 on the 2.46 mile course: “Mosport is a fast, technical track with long turns. This is my first time on the track and I’ve spent the last few days getting used to the course. The No. 45 is not at the ideal setup yet. We’re not at the top of the field, but the car has been responsive to the changes we’ve made today. I’m looking forward to a solid race tomorrow.” Teammate Johannes van Overbeek will start the race on Sunday.

After a non-racing related incident left the No. 44’s Lonnie Pechnik with an injured hand, Seth Neiman took his place during today’s practice and qualifying sessions. “With Lonnie out of the car for the day, the No. 44 crew did a great job working with me during my first-ever effort to setup and qualify the Porsche,” said Neiman. “It was a lot of fun and I think we have a reasonable setup for the race.” Pechnik had put No. 44 on the pole at Mosport last year and was looking forward to defending his GT2 track qualifying record, which fell today to Romain Dumas in the Alex Job Racing No. 23 Porsche.
