August 25, 2007 — Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada — Flying Lizard No. 45 and No. 44 Porsches qualified fifth and ninth, respectively, in GT2 for tomorrow’s Grand Prix of Mosport. Joerg Bergmeister was at the wheel of the No. 45 and Lonnie Pechnik was in the No. 44.

The 2 hour and 45 minute race begins at 3 pm ET Sunday, August 26. In the No. 45, Bergmeister and teammate Johannes van Overbeek are in contention for the ALMS GT2 drivers’ championship, and are currently second in points. In the No. 44, Pechnik will be joined by Seth Neiman for the race. The team is also second in the ALMS team championship points chase.

“Because of the rain this morning, we weren’t able to get to the right setup today for the conditions and I couldn’t get the speed out of the car,” said Bergmeister about the session. “I felt that we were closer to the right setup earlier in the week when we tested on Tuesday. We’ll get things sorted out over the next 24 hours and we still have tomorrow’s morning warmup to complete our setup.”

Eric Ingraham, team manager and strategist on the No. 44 Porsche said, “The weather in the last few days has really limited our track time. Lonnie had almost no track time in the car over the last few days, which definitely affected our times today during qualifying. This is a fast track and we’re confident that we’ll have a competitive racecar tomorrow. ”

Race Details

The Grand Prix of Mosport will start at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 26 and will be broadcast live on SPEED TV. American Le Mans Radio and IMSA’s Live Timing and Scoring will be available at americanlemans.com.
