September 4, 2005 — Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada — Flying Lizard Motorsports announced today that the team, together with several other teams from the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), will donate any prize winnings from today’s race at Mosport to the Salvation Army’s Hurricane Katrina relief effort. Don Panoz, founder of the ALMS, and his wife Nancy will personally match team contributions to the fund. “We are happy to contribute any winnings from this race to the Salvation Army to help those in need,” said Flying Lizard Porsche No. 44 driver Seth Neiman.

The team also announced the addition of David Murry to the No. 44 Porsche driver line up as a standby driver for today’s race at Mosport. On Saturday, before morning practice, the No. 44’s lead driver Lonnie Pechnik suffered a hand injury. The team made the decision to bring Murry to Mosport in case Pechnik is unable to drive. Murry drove with the No. 44 Porsche earlier this year at Sebring.
