August 15, 2012 – Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin – Flying Lizard lands at Road America this week for the four-hour Road Race Showcase this Saturday. The seventh race of the ALMS 10-race schedule, this weekend’s event gets the green flag Saturday at 2:30 pm Central Time. The driver lineup is Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long in the No. 45 Flying Lizard Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and Marco Holzer and Seth Neiman in the No. 44.

The Lizards picked up some much-needed season momentum with a second-place finish at the most recent ALMS race at Mid-Ohio August 4th. Bergmeister and Long are now fifth in the 2012 ALMS GT drivers’ championship with 55 points. Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner of the No. 4 Corvette lead with 93 points. The Lizards are fourth in the team championship with 66 points; Corvette Racing leads with 114 points. There are 88 points possible left in the season.

Lizard chief strategist Thomas Blam commented, “We’ve been on a roll for the last three races with two consecutive wins (at Lime Rock and Mosport) and a second- place finish. Although we didn’t get the points at Mosport, at each race we’ve been up at the front, fighting for the win. Road America is fast track with a combination of long straightaways and high-speed turns; it’s Joerg’s favorite U.S. circuit. We all enjoy the four-hour format which gives us more time for pit stops and strategy. There’ll be a large GT field again this weekend and it should be another exciting and very competitive race.”

The Road America Road Race Showcase gets the green flag at 2:30 pm CT Saturday August 18, 2012. Qualifying is broadcast live on EPSN2 and ALMS.com. The race will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com and on ESPN2 starting Sunday, August 19 at 1 pm CT. The race will also be broadcast live in Europe on MotorsTV and in Latin America/Middle East on Fox and tape-delayed in Canada on Rogers Sports Net.
