August 31, 2012 – Baltimore, Maryland – In sweltering afternoon heat, Flying Lizard driver Patrick Long qualified the No. 45 fourth in GT for Saturday’s Baltimore Sports Car Challenge with a time of 1:30.665. The No. 44 was twelfth in class. Long set his fastest time on his final lap of qualifying on the 2-mile, 12-turn street course. He commented on qualifying: “I’m happy that I could dig one out late in the session to take fourth. That gets us to the front of the GT pack and within striking distance of the lead. As we expected, we’ve have had very little track time this week but everyone is in the same boat. We have a strong racecar and I’m confident that we’ll be competitive tomorrow. It’s going to be an extremely difficult two hours: a lot of traffic, no room to pass, and some of the drivers are still learning the course; a typical street race, in other words.”

Oliver Gavin of the No. 4 Corvette took the GT pole with a time of 1:29.945.

The two-hour race through Baltimore’s Camden Yards gets the green flag Saturday, Sept 1 at 4:30 pm Eastern Time. The driver lineup is Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long in the No. 45 Flying Lizard Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and Marco Holzer and Seth Neiman in the No. 44.

The race will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com and ALMS.com and tape-delayed on ABC on Sunday, Sept. 2, starting at noon ET. It will also be broadcast live in Europe on MotorsTV, in Latin America/Middle East on Fox and in Canada on Sports Net.
